Between the 8th of August 2015 and the 8th of August 2017, EEHYC in partnership with C.R.E.E.D association from Romania as lead partners, Building Bridges (BB) and Capacity London, from the United Kingdom are implementing a project called Inclusive Partnership. This project is being implemented with the financial support of the European Commission, through the Erasmus Plus Programme, Key Action 2, managed in Romania by ANPCDEFP.

The project has as its sole purpose the improvement of youth workers’ competencies in relation with inclusive activities for young people with fewer opportunities and, more specifically, for young people from rural areas.

The specific objectives of the project are:

To assess the availability of learning opportunities for youth workers from the UK, from Spain, Lithuania and Romania, aimed at improving the impact of inclusion-related activities;

To identify best practice examples for informal and non-formal learning activities (i.e. mentoring programmes) designed to improve youth workers’ competencies and to assess whether such programmes can and should be replicated at a local, national or European level;

To challenge and improve the competencies of 24 youth workers from CREED, BB, EEHYC and Capacity London, during an 8-day short term joint staff training event for 20 youth workers;

To develop recommendations that will help improve the competencies of youth workers regarding inclusion activities for young people facing fewer opportunities, especially those from rural areas.

The needs that this project is trying to meet are an improved training and educational system for youth workers. Although the partners encourage their staff to be actively engaged in personal and professional development opportunities, such as non-formal education activities and training sessions, there is still the need of a unified approach. This would allow the youth workers to be involved in an efficient training and educational process meant to improve the competencies required in order to raise the impact of inclusion activities and overcome the various differences that can still be seen at a national level.

The activities of the project also include one short term training event for 20 people, which will take place in the Neamț area. The Intellectual Outputs of the project consist of a Comparative analysis of the learning opportunities available for youth workers in the 4 countries, a Best practice document regarding the improvement of youth workers’ competencies, and a Youth worker’s guide to better inclusion activities.­­­
