Dear friends, partners, and supporters,
It is our great pleasure to invite you to join us in the preparations for the forthcoming High-level Meeting on Transport Health and Environment scheduled for 22-24 October 2019. EEHYC is continuing to advocate for the meaningful inclusion of children and youth in the declaration of the Fifth High-level Meeting on Transport, Health and Environment that is to be adopted as the outcome document of this meeting. We need your voice!
As you remember, in our Ostrava Youth Declaration (Item 10), and in the Ostrava Youth Commitment to Act (Item 15) we pledged that:
“We will support health promoting physical activity such as walking and cycling, and will work to support the increase of public transport share by improving the quality of infrastructure for public transport, for walking, and for cycling. We will further support policies towards the provision of affordable and accessible public transport for everyone, and introduction of environmentally friendly technologies.
” The both documents are available here: http://www.euro.who.int/__data/assets/pdf_file/0007/342376/Ostrava-Youth-Declaration-2017.pdf?ua=1
Therefore, we kindly ask you to share your ideas, best practices, projects, gaps and challenges related to the young people and their role in transport, environment, and health policies, activities, and all other aspects you think are relevant. We also ask you to tell us how you are willing to support the upcoming PEP meeting in Vienna, especially with the follow-up initiative aiming to help promote the outcomes of this conference. Please answer the questionnaire
